Capturing Moments: P2

´It's not just about taking pictures; it's about capturing the soul of the moment, freezing time, and making memories timeless.´- K

New Beginnings

Shot on: Canon EOS-R (RF24-105 mm) Date: 01.01.2019 Location: (Sydney harbor bridge, AU)

Me and me mate had moved to Sydney from Melbourne in the summer of 2018. Even though I grew up in a tropical country, I had never felt heat like that before. I'm talking 40+ degrees of relentless, unbearable heat waves. I think what saved us was living up by the ocean at Bondi; it kept things a tad cooler.

Now, I've never been big on New Year's, never really celebrated it, but I've always been curious about seeing the fireworks at the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. So, on the eve of 2019 New years, a few of me mates and I camped right next to the bridge, real early like, around 13.00 or 14.00 hours hoping to catch an up-close view of the fireworks. Time flew by with all the excitement, and then, out of nowhere, the heavy rain came down. I mean, it really poured on us, soaking us through and through. But we were determined, nothing was going to stop us that night. We stuck it out, and after a few more hours, there it was: the countdown, the fireworks, and the moment of the photo.

Here are some exciting moments leading up to the stroke of midnight.
