Wrapped 2024: Movies
Me 2024 Movie “Wrap-Up” (Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Hug Me Ever-Growing Watchlist)
Let’s be real mate—2024 was the year I tried to juggle work chaos, a to-do list that multiplied like gremlins, and occasionally remembering to feed myself. Shockingly, “watch movies” didn’t make the cut often. But hey, of the few films I managed to pry me eyeballs away from spreadsheets for? Absolute gems.
Dune: Part Two wasn’t just a movie—it was a religious experience. Me pretty sure I felt the sandworms rumbling in me soul. If you didn’t see it in theaters, I’m sorry, but you basically watched the Mona Lisa on a Post-it note. Meanwhile, why did no one stage an intervention to drag me to Furiosa in theaters? I blame me calendar. And possibly ETV.
Bramayugam and The First Omen had me sleeping with the lights on, while Alien: Romulus proved that yes, space is still terrifying. Shoutout to Civil War for proving Alex Garland still knows how to make my brain hurt (in the best way).
Speaking of fresh air, Meiyazhagan and Manjummel Boys were the cinematic equivalent of cracking a window after a decade of superhero sequels. Refreshing, unexpected, and way too good to ignore. Now, the surprises: It’s What’s Inside and Conclave snuck up on me like plot twists in a thriller. One minute I’m skeptically side-eyeing the trailer, the next I’m texting friends: “DROP EVERYTHING. WATCH THIS. NOW.”
But let’s not kid ourselves—me watchlist is now a towering monument to neglect. I’m convinced it’s plotting revenge. 2025, be nicer to me or I’ll start cloning myself. You’ve been warned.
TV? Let’s not. This was the year I mainlined nostalgic sitcoms like they were emotional support carbs (TBBT reruns > therapy, fight me). That said, The Penguin and Fallout slapped harder than me regret about skipping Furiosa on the big screen. Pro tip: If your show features a dystopian wasteland or Colin Farrell in a fat suit, I’m there with snacks.
So here’s to 2025: May our Wi-Fi be strong, our snacks be endless, and our watchlists… slightly less judgmental.
As always, continuing the tradition by integrating some of me favorite alternative posters into the list.

P.S. If you see me near a theater in 2025, remind me to book the Furiosa re-release. I’m not making the same mistake twice. (Probably.)
